Acceptable Use and Limitations

The following are terms and conditions for the sale of goods that will govern any contract for sale that we enter into with you. Please read these terms and conditions carefully.

Staffordshire Gifts and Distinctive Gifts Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions tell you the rights and obligations you have. You may have other rights granted by law and these terms and conditions do not affect these.

This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Staffordshire Gifts and sister site Distinctive Gifts are sites run in partnership with the local museums and suppliers, your order will clearly state which museum you have purchased your item from. If you have any complaints about any goods or services you have purchased please contact the museum who sold the item. Staffordshire Gifts is developed by The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery with funding from the MLA. Purchasing From Staffordshire Gifts and sister site Distinctive Gifts

By submitting your order you are offering to buy the goods and allowing Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts Suppliers to use your personal details for the purposes of supplying goods (including passing your details onto couriers and other subcontractors). We will not use your details for other purposes without asking your consent and you may ask that your details are removed from our system by writing to the main contact Gifts address above or email sales@staffordshiregifts.org.uk .

Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts Suppliers are not obliged to supply the goods to you until we have confirmed acceptance of your order and this is when the contract is made. You do not own the goods until Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts receive payment in full.

All prices and offers are subject to change and availability. Errors and omissions excepted subject to not selling below our cost price.

Delivery

Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts Suppliers aim to deliver goods to you as fast as possible between 1 and 7 working days but we cannot give an exact delivery date. We also may deliver the goods in several consignments but will not charge any extra delivery for this. If you need a specific ITEM VERY QUICKLY PLEASE CONTACT THE GIFT SUPPLIER who sells the item - their contact details will be shown on the site and they will do their best to accommodate your requirements.

The majority of our packages are sent standard, tracked and special delivery via Royal Mail however if you are not at home when the item is delivered and it will not fit through your letter box, then a card will be left for you to either ask you to phone to arrange an alternative delivery or to collect it from a royal mail or courier company collection centre.

We will notify you of any delays in your order as soon as we can.

If you have any concerns about your order please email the Gift Supplier who sold the item. The contact details will be clearly shown on your order and include details such as order number and customer number to help find your order quicker.

Postage for Standard Delivery

Customers can see the P&P price of their items before purchasing and this is shown in their shopping basket. All products are weighed and the postage is calculated using either standard, tracked and special delivery Royal Mail charges for both mainland UK and airmail. It is our policy to recycle packaging where possible to reduce costs for the customer and also help the environment.

We reserve the right to send your product by using other postal couriers.

We are also pleased to offer a pay and collect facility so customers can enjoy visiting their chosen museum whilst collecting their purchase.

Complaints

We try very hard to exceed our customer expectations. In case we fail and you need to complain about our service then please contact the Gift supplier who sold the item, this will be clearly stated on your order.  If you have a general complaint (not related to a product) please email the Online Marketing Team at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery at sales@staffordshiregifts.org.uk or call  01782 232323 and we will try to resolve your issue as quickly and easily as possible.

We will acknowledge all questions or queries within a maximum period of 48 hours.

A copy of these Terms and Conditions and your order may not be kept by us and so we advise you to print a copy for your information in the future.

Cancellation (not tickets)

If you are a consumer you have the right, in addition to your other rights, to cancel the contract and receive a refund. However,  Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts Suppliers will only accept unwanted products for refund within 7 days of delivery, provided that the goods are complete with all relevant packaging in an unused and re-saleable condition. You must inform us in writing if your desire to cancel within seven working days starting on the day after the day the goods are delivered to you. You must return the goods to us at your cost and we advise you to ensure the goods are adequately insured during any return journey.

If you wish to cancel, please contact the supplier who sold the item (the contact detail will be clear on your order.)  Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts Suppliers shall refund the total amount of money paid by you for the goods and any restocking fee reasonably incurred (not exceeding 10% of the Product value) within 30 days starting with the day on which we receive a notice of cancellation in writing from you provided that the Products have been returned to us as stated above.

We would remind you that once you have notified the supplier of your desire to cancel the contract there is a legal requirement for you to take good care of the goods. You must return the goods to the supplier at your cost to the relevant address and we advise you to ensure the goods are adequately insured during any return journey.

Cancellation (Tickets)

We regret that we cannot exchange, refund or transfer tickets unless the event in question has been cancelled or rescheduled. In this instance, we will make reasonable attempt to contact you on the email address provided when purchasing your tickets.
 

Stock Levels

All Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts suppliers aim to keep the site updated on stock levels however due to the range of products available it’s inevitable some items we will be temporarily out of stock, in this case you will be contacted if the delay is likely to exceed 7 working days.  If for reasons beyond our control we are no longer able to supply an item you have ordered you will be issued with a full refund.

Returns Information

We hope that you are pleased with your purchase from Staffordshire Gifts. However, we understand there are occasions when you need to return goods to us.

Goods Reported Faulty Within 28 Days of Receipt

If you are reporting faulty goods within 28 days of receipt then when the goods are returned to us complete, we’ll issue a full refund to you via your original payment method.

Goods Damaged in Transit

If your goods were damaged in transit, we request that you report it to us within 7 days. If goods are visibly damaged on receipt, it's best to sign the delivery note accordingly. Once the damaged goods have been received , we’ll issue a full refund to you via your original payment method.

Packaging Goods for Return

In all cases where goods are to be returned to the Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts Supplier, please ensure that you read our Return of Faulty Goods: Packaging Guidelines as detailed below.

Return of Faulty Goods: Packaging Guidelines

Please note that it is in the interest of all parties to ensure that any faulty goods being returned to us are sufficiently packaged to protect against loss and/or damage during carriage, handling and/or sorting. Where therefore you intend to return any faulty goods, then we strongly recommend that you return those goods in their original packaging (assuming that the original packaging is not damaged).

Where it is not possible to use the original packaging, then please ensure that the goods to be returned are sufficiently packaged and cushioned to provide protection against any reasonably predictable shocks, puncturing, scratching and/or damage that may occur during carriage, handling and/or sorting.

In the event that Staffordshire Gifts and sister site Distinctive Gifts reasonably considers that the goods are damaged during carriage, handling and/or sorting due to insufficient or improper protective packaging by you, then Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts shall not be liable for any loss and/or damage to those good and shall be entitled to reject any goods that do not meet the criteria laid out above. If we have cause to reject any goods, then we shall return those goods to you.

We advise you to print and keep safe a copy of these terms and conditions.

None of the above terms and conditions affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Privacy Policy

We respect the privacy of all our customers and website users and take great care with the information we obtain. The personal data we collect from you will be used to fulfil your order as requested. By using this website you consent to us collecting and using personal information about you in accordance with the terms set out herein. We may also use customer data and order data to undertake statistical analysis for internal use. From time to time we may contact you with information about Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts merchandise or other Gift/Museum activities that you might be interested in. Your personal information will not be passed on to third parties who are not part of the Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts Partnership. At all points where we ask you to submit personal information, you will be given the opportunity to opt out of receiving further information about Staffordshire Gifts/Distinctive Gifts and suppliers. It is not our policy to sell information about our users to third parties.

We take the security of all your personal information seriously. However, Internet transmissions are never completely private or secure. As this website may contain links to other websites we recommend that you check the privacy and security policies and procedures of all such other websites you visit. You understand that any message or information you send to this website may be read or intercepted by others unless there is a special notice that a particular message is encrypted.

From time to time we may provide links to web sites belonging to our commercial partners. We reserve the right to alter amend add to or remove all or any part of this Policy Statement at any time without notice and any changes to this Policy Statement or any other terms shown on our website apply with immediate effect of being published. By continuing to use this website after any changes are displayed you indicate your acceptance of those changes.
